Bitter Sweet II is a free dynamics processor specifically designed for managing audio transients. It’s made by Flux:: Sound and Picture Development, a French company with a fairly respectable line of Dynamics processors.
The Bitter Sweet plug-in gives you control over the amplitude of transients.
Operation is simple.
There’s one central button. Turn it to the Sweet side and it will decrease the transients amplitude. Turn it to the Bitter side an it will increase transient amplitude.
Bitter-Sweet also features a control for determining the signal to be processed. When the main position is engaged, the process affects the stereo signal. If Center is engaged, only the M signal of the internal MS matrix is processed. If stereo is selected, only the S signal from the MS matrix is processed.
Other features include three user selectable transient detection modes, a varying period of integration for transients and a Link function to compensate the output gain regarding the transient processing setting.
