PRO TOOLS 9 and MOTU Audio Interfaces

MOTU audio interfaces are compatible with Pro Tools 9 and this is great news for Pro Tools users. I’ve owned and worked with several MOTU interfaces on my Digital Performer system over the years and have found each of them (the 828, 2408MKII, 896) to be totally solid and reliable pieces of audio hardware.

So, the good news is that all current MOTU FireWire, USB, and PCI audio interfaces are compatible with Pro Tools 9, including the UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid, 828mk3, 896mk3, 8pre, Traveler-mk3, 2408mk3, and MicroBook.

If you’ve never had a chance to work with MOTU products, I encourage you to check them out. MOTU have been developing audio, video and music technology products since 1984 and continue to win awards year after year for their software and hardware products. Definitely worthy of consideration for your Pro Tools 9 studio.

I’ve used MOTU & Pro Tools since their inception. I upgraded to PT HD 9 and carried my 896HD over to my MacPro. Plugged it in and tried everything I could think of to get PT to see it – all without luck. Read all the posts I could find and still no luck. I’m still hopeful. Thanks.

  2. Hi Whitemarks,

I have not used the 896HD with Pro Tools 9. But I do know that there is a MOTU Firewire driver for 10.5.8 or later that was released March 16, 2011.

If you haven’t installed that yet, you can find it here*.

Will require MOTU user name to log in and download
